All Eyes on Dublin for the IFTA Awards 2026

Dublin is getting a major glow-up this week as the IFTA Awards 2026 land at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre this Friday, 20th February. Think big names, big fits, and a full-on celebration of Irish film and TV. Hosting the night is comedian Kevin McGahern, and the vibe is very much homecoming energy for Ireland’s brightest screen talent.

One of the most iconic moments of the evening will see Ciarán Hinds receive the Lifetime Achievement Award — a well-deserved nod to one of Ireland’s most respected acting legends.

The Guest List Is Stacked

Some of the biggest names in Irish and international screen are already confirmed, including Oscar-nominated Jessie Buckley for Hamnet, alongside Cillian Murphy, Steve Coogan, Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors), Alison Oliver, Aidan Quinn, and Fionn O’Shea.

Also in the mix are rising stars and fan favourites like Danielle Galligan, Anthony Boyle, Niamh Algar, Lola Petticrew, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, and Genevieve O’Reilly (Andor), making this year’s ceremony feel especially next-gen.

The Competition? Fierce.

Nominees this year include heavy hitters such as Colin Farrell, Paul Mescal, Kerry Condon, Caitríona Balfe (Outlander), Fionnula Flanagan, and Ruth Bradley — proof that Irish talent is absolutely dominating right now.

When & Where to Watch

Cant watch the red carpet chaos? No stress. The ceremony will air on RTÉ One this Saturday, 21st February.

Backed by Screen Ireland and Coimisiún na Meán, with Redbreast and Sculpted by Aimee as official partners, the IFTAs continue to be one of the biggest nights in Ireland’s entertainment calendar.

One thing’s guaranteed: Dublin will be the place to be this weekend.
