ARTIFICIAL announced as a Gala at the 70th BFI London Film Festival

Directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by Simon Rich, Artificial will have its UK premiere as a Gala at the 70th BFI London Film Festival on 11 October, with the cast expected to attend.

The film stars Andrew Garfield, Yura Borisov, Monica Barbaro, Cooper Hoffman, Jason Schwartzman and Chris O’Dowd, alongside Ike Barinholtz and Mark Rylance.

Artificial chronicles the extraordinary days surrounding the sudden firing and reinstatement of Sam Altman as CEO of OpenAI, as the fate of who controls the technology at the centre of an escalating AI arms race hangs in the balance.

The 70th BFI London Film Festival takes place from Wednesday 7 October to Sunday 18 October 2026.

The full festival programme will be unveiled on Wednesday 2 September, with tickets going on general sale from 17 September.
